Love for chihuahuas since 1983

Behind the prefix is a bare footed Tampere girl born in1978. Dogs have always been a part of my life. The first touch with canines was at the age of 5 months.

My first chihuahua came in to my life in 1983. Puti was a sable colored long coated male, who shared many game and adventures with me. Now that I think about it, he must have had so much patience towards me.

In the summer of 1986 I met a nice lady at the bus stop and she was holding a smooth coated Chihuahua in her arms. This female was Kurrepuiston Nanette known as Nana and the lady was Pirkko Salo. Me being a go-getting child, I told that I wanted a playmate for my long coated male. Pirkko smiled at me and said that I should ask my mothers promission before I start buying dogs. Well, my mother thought that an idea of a second dog was a good one.

That same fall we got Nanas son Harlekino Geronimo, known as Nimo. Through Pirkko, my mother got to know the dogshow world and so did I. There wasn't a dogshow that my mother didn't take me with her.

During these years many people were kind enough to share their experiences and knowledge with me. I'm very grateful for that and for the patience they showed towards me.

In 1993 our family got a new family member, a different kind of Chihuahua. From Kennel Winterway's we got a mustard colored dandiedinmont terrier male Champion, who was called Köntsä. Köntsä adjusted to our family very easily and he, being a wonderful surrogate "mother", taught me many things about taking care of puppies.

As an adult I spend some years with limited number of dogs and then it hit me. I wanted a puppy. In 2007 I started an on and off search to look for a puppy. After about a years search, summer of 2008, Tikkari and Jaffa entered my life. Because of them I started to get interested in dogshows again and the thought of breeding came to me.

In the fall of 2008 I passed a Breeder's course arranged by Finnish Kennel Club and I applied for a prefix. March of 2009 I was granted the prefix Little Phoenix's. My goal is to breed merry natured and healthy dogs in a home environment.

I'm a member of Finnish Kennel Club, Finnish Chihuahua Club, Tampere area dogclub and Royal Canin Breeders Club. And I have also signed an Accredited Breeders Scheme by Finnish Kennel Club.
